About
This site is the living home for agentic build engineering: building software with coding agents, practical engineering of the agent loop, measurements and experiments, and views on industry trends. The full text of Programming the Loop lives in the Guide. The October 2026 first-edition PDF is kept as an archive.
My experiments on coding agents are published at github.com/meabs. I share practical work on frugal, local-first and evidence-based AI engineering on YouTube as Frugal AI Engineer, and on X as @Mav1972. I live in the UK with my wife, Mrs Meabs, and our house rabbits, Humphrey and Victor.
For authorship and evidence disclosures from the book (including who ran the experiments and who wrote the words), see About the evidence and About the author in the Guide.
Findings and recommendations
Section titled “Findings and recommendations”Where I publish results, findings are measured outcomes with limits; recommendations are judgement. Where a recommendation goes beyond what I measured, I say so.

Licence
Section titled “Licence”© Garry Meaburn 2026. This guide is free to read. You may share the unchanged pages (or the archived PDF) with others, free of charge, as long as you credit Garry Meaburn as the author and keep the copyright notice. You may not sell it, use it commercially, or share modified versions, without written permission. The latest edition of related repositories is at github.com/meabs.
Quoted material belongs to its authors and is used briefly, with attribution and a link, for commentary. My software repositories carry their own licences, listed in “About the evidence” at the back; they are not covered by the copyright line above.
Disclaimer. Practical opinion, written in good faith, about tools that change month to month. Not legal, security or financial advice. My experiments are small and I say so each time. Test anything here on your own code before you rely on it, and keep backups: agents can and do delete things. The views in this book are the author’s own and do not represent any employer, past or present.
